FOLIA GEOBOTANICA

Folia Geobotanica covers the broad topics of plant ecology, vegetation science and plant systematics, focusing primarily on plant species in a structured environment. In the area of plant ecology, Folia Geobotanica publishes papers that deal with population and community ecology, in particular when linked with environment response. Within plant systematics, the journal publishes papers on systematic and evolutionary botany, including phylogeny reconstructions, phylogeographic and biogeographic inferences, studies on microevolutionary processes, taxonomic studies, and broader taxonomic revisions. Apart from regular papers, the journal also publishes book reviews and Forum discussion papers that raise important topics of broader interest. Occasionally, Special issues may be published on various topics in plant ecology and plant systematic that often stem from activities at international conferences geared toward a specific problem. An international Editorial Board, and a well-developed review procedure help to guarantee the high quality of the papers published.Slavomil Hejn? and Jaroslav Moravec established the journal in 1966 (under the name Folia Geobotanica & Phytotaxonomica), in what was then the Institute of Botany of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. From 2008 it is published by Springer.Folia Geobotanica is co-published with the Institute of Botany, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
