  大部分期刊进行返修时,cover letter与response to reviewers是分开的,可以参考如下的写作模版:

  模版二、Responses to reviewers' comments

  Dear reviewers:

Thank you very much for your comments and professional advice. These opinions help to improve the academic rigor of our article. Based on your suggestions and requests, we have made the corresponding modifications to the revised manuscript. We hope our work can be further improved with your feedback. Furthermore, we would like to show the details as follows:

Responses to comments from Reviewer 1:

Q1: There are very long sentences.

A: Thank you for your feedback. We have broken them down into shorter and more concise statements to improve clarity and readability in the article. Please see the revised manuscript.

Q2: Using personal pronouns in the article is not suitable for academic writing. There are quite a lot of them in the article. These should definitely be corrected.

A: Thank you for pointing this out. We understand your point about the use of personal pronouns in academic writing, and we agree that maintaining an objective tone is crucial. We have corrected the personal pronouns in the article. Please see the revised manuscript.

Q3: There are also other errors in English. An example in this context is attached (summary and conclusion only). Translated with DeepL.com (free version).

A: Thank you for your valuable feedback and examples. We have revised the language in-depth to improve the clarity and accuracy of the article by using DeepL.com. Meanwhile, we also invited a native English speaker to help us polish the language of the article. Please see the revised manuscript.

Responses to comments from Reviewer 2

Q1: Title: the title, "Dynamic Impacts of Urban Expansion on Vegetation Growth in Urban Environments: A Sustainable Management Framework" is a little confusing. Do the authors mean "sustainable land management" (this is a land management journal and not a management journal (there is a difference). Perhaps the authors could stick to a title such as "Dynamic Impacts of Urban Expansion on Vegetation Growth in Urban Environments: A Sustainability Framework" or "Dynamic Impacts of Urban Expansion on Vegetation Growth in Urban Environments: A Sustainable Land Management Framework" or "Dynamic Impacts of Urban Expansion on Vegetation Growth in Urban Environments: A Sustainable Development Framework." These all would align with the scope of this journal better than the present title. Whichever title the authors go for, they MUST address that term (by way of definition) in the manuscript for better comprehension - otherwise, the framework would lack context and meaning.

A: Thank you for your advice. Indeed, what we wanted to express is a land management framework. On the one hand, the impervious surfaces caused by urban expansion lead to the replacement of numerous natural lands, which directly leads to the sharp loss of vegetation growth. On the other hand, climate change and other human activities caused by urban expansion may also weaken or enhance vegetation growth on the natural lands. Thus, the competition between.

  需要注意的是,有的期刊是要求cover letter和reaponse to reviewers是合并在一起的,可以参考如下写作模版:

  模版二、

Which ever title the authors go or, they MUST address that term (by way of definition) in the manuscript for better comprehension - otherwise, the framework would lack context a meaning.

Thus, the competition between urban expansion and vegetation growth for land is essentially the competition between impervious surfaces and vegetated surfaces for land. This is also the underlying logic of the 3D conceptual framework for explaining the dynamic impacts of urban expansion on vegetation growth in urban environment. We believe that by rationally reducing negative direct impacts and enhancing positive indirect impacts of urban expansion on vegetation growth, natural land can be preserved and restored as much as possible in limited urban space. Specific sustainable land management framework is also provided in the article. Thus, we changed our title to "Dynamic Impacts of Urban Expansion on Vegetation Growth in Urban Environments: A Sustainable Land Management Framework" in the revised manuscript. The corresponding definitions have also been explained in the Introduction and Methods. Please see the title in the revised manuscript.

We hope that the changes we’ve made resolve all your concerns about the article. I’m more than happy to make any further changes that will improve the paper and/or facilitate successful publication.

  Thank you and best regards.

  Yours sincerely,
